GRADING RUBRIC FOR INDEPENDENT PROJECTS
It is important to understand that when students complete an independent art project and turn it in for a grade, the finished artwork is not being assessed. What is being assessed is the student’s success in applying a concept or technique in their own artwork.
When turning in an independent project, students must indicate what concepts (from class) they were intending to apply in this particular artwork, and they must explain that process in writing in as much detail as possible.
Application of the chosen concepts will be assessed on the following scale:
